Hi, All,
We want to meet fellow Burners in the Fresno area! So...anyone who is inclined is invited meet up with Mark and Miss Treat at Sequoia Brewery on Wednesday, January 30, at 7 pm. Sequoia Brewery is in the Tower District on Olive. We will have a meet up on the 30th of every month leading up to Burning Man at various watering holes around Fresno. We chose the 30th because the man burns on the 30th of August. Of course, February's meet up will be on the 29th. See you there. Blinky lights encouraged.

My 2007 Burning Man Trip Report is here:

http://www.peaklightimages.com/dragonreturns

I hope you enjoy it

Like my last report, this one is intended for non-burners but also tries to provide some food for thought for anyone.

I could write countless reports on my Burning Man experience and whole blogs about individuals I shared things with that don't even get mentioned in this report. So much love and sacred sharing.

Peace and love

Miles was assaulted Tuesday and has suffered serious injuries. He was walking to a friends of house with a couple of friends when he was accosted by two men driving a pickup truck. This happened in the Old Fig Garden area of Fresno. The two men accused him of being gay and didn't like the response Miles gave them. One of the men proceeded to hit Miles in the face with what Police and doctors have described as a "death blow." Fortunately Miles survived, but still has some medical issues

Miles has several costly re constructive surgeries ahead of him. He is covered by insurance, but the weight of the copays for the surgeries and doctors visits is burdensome on the Family.

If you can help, please contact me or Joy Newsome. Her phone number is 559-908-6460.

Thanks

We live in Modesto... always looking to meet some people who are actually cool around here.

Do you know anything about cats?

I work on a farm near Fresno and there is a family of cats that were abandoned on the land. Two of the kittens have really bad eye infections. One of them looks like the eye is gone. I try to give them scraps when I can and take out cat food from home. I would really like to get them taken care of and find homes for them. There are five cats altogether. I called the cat foundation and the SPCA but I was told all they would do was give me traps. I can’t pay for all of them to get treatment. They don’t really let me pet them but I was hoping they would be able to be tamed so they can be adopted. If any one has info please send me a message. Thanks so much

Time for a Meet and Greet.

OK, Central California Burners!!!! It is ABOUT TIME to do a meet and greet. This Tribe has been in existence for about a year and there have been LITTLE activity. A few of us have met in the Tower, a members House, The Playa, and Decompression. According to the "membership numbers" there are 72 of us. I personally have only met 5 of them.

Nightbird and I think we to set one up for after Spring Break. We need feedback though. We are thinking of meeting at a Resturant in Fresno. Suggestions? Interest? Replies?

Let's get this Tribe GOING!!!

"The Gift of the Turbi", a (post) holiday classic

There was a man, a young man of good heart and character, and he had a bus that he loved. The bus was the shiny yellow and black apple of his eye, and their love was complete. He veritably lived inside of her, caressing her ample bumpers and buying her all manners of distilled waters and fancy spray paints.

And she loved him too; she loved him as strongly as a bus could love a man, that tall (10 feet) long legged (35 feet) 19,000 lb lady from Hayward, and things were good.

She was a comely bus, old fashioned values and smog, and was blessed by the lord with the gift of turbo, a lovely tress of curly cast iron that adorned her intake manifiold like a jewel in a Princess' tiara. It was their pride and her joy.

And the man also possessed one thing of great sentimental and personal value: a classic turbo boost sphygomometer given to him by his grandfather, a toxic filled graduated glass and brass mercury tube of wonderful complexity that he would lovingly plumb into his beloved when he wanted to see her smile. On sundays they would go to the park and he would gently lift her covers one by one, and there they would sit, whiling away the hours in the joy that only lovers share.

The couple was poor, and didn't drink the finest Rotella, nor could afford Michelins on the table except during special occasions. And then one year, the Saint Valentine's Day holiday approached, and they were both left in a quandary, how could this poor bus and man properly show their love on this special occasion?

Finally February 14th arrived, and after a hard day at the yard, the man came home to find his beloved bride sitting, parked near the one ton, behind the trailer, near the stack of pallets where he stored the brake drums and the power steering pumps, with tears/condensation in her headlights, but still shining the most lumenous of glows towards her chosen seat taker. And the man excitedly approached her, cleverly concealing a package from his beloved's low beams.

(break for commercial)

(Scene returns to idyllic backyard full of bus parts and Japanese and American pickups)

"Look my dear" he cried, "I have the finest of gifts for the bus that has been my veritable foundation of transportation for so many wonderful years." And from under his cloak, he produced a box. And there, inside the box was a lovely air heat exchanger from Cummins in Paris, painted beautiful flat black and glowing with a non reflective dullness that shone like the night. (with all necessary connectors and fasteners, and a roll of pink teflon tape)

"Oh my Goodness", she screamed in joy, "how could you ever have brought to me such a precious and costly gift my love?" She began to sigh, and with tears now welling up in her turn signals, she said "We are but a poor couple, rich in maintenance but with a limited parts budget..."

"Well" he replied, "my love for you springs internal, just like your fuel lines, and I confess I sold the turbo boost gage to get the lovely part. but it is OK, we can do it by ear my sweet, love can conquer any vaccuum problem."

And then he spotted a splendidly wrapped box sitting on the dash. "Is that for me my love?" he asked. "A gift from the bus whose broad hips and leaf spring suspension has seen me thru my longest travels and darkest hours... I can't wait to open it!"

And then he carefully separated the twine, and removed the paper, and gently lifted the lid off the box. And there inside was a 3/16" thru 7/8" SAE and metric adapter set for classic sphygamometers, lovingly hand chromed from Taiwan.

And then tears began to well up in his eyes, as we walked, slowly, to the side (driver's side, door behind the radiator door) of his beloved, and lifted her skirts gently for the thousandth time.

For he knew the truth already..... ... . . . there in place of her lovely turbo was a simple metal plate, her chestnut colored curl now nothing more than a 5 X 8 piece of aluminum or cast or pot metal or something, (it had paint on it) and her flowing manifolds had been shorn to the scalp.

And as they looked at each other, and felt the love and tender mercies that only a long time committed driver and machine can hold dear, and nurture thru the years,-- there was peace, and then they drove, hand in wheel, down to Flying J for a quiet, intimate fill.

And life was good, and love had flourished and flew and soared for a brief minute on God's Green Earth.

("The Gift of the Turbi", a holiday classic)
available on CD and cassette

The Shiva Vista Project is an art installation *by* fire performers *for* fire performers at night and for other individuals and groups during the day. Shiva Vista will create an atmosphere for fire performers, theatrics, sunrise yoga, circus entertainers, poetry, fashion shows, etc. to play, interact, and display their talent six feet above the playa for all to see their evolution, their transformation from one year to the next. When the Shiva Vista is not being used for scheduled performances, it will be available to anyone to use for meditation, shade, drumming, as well as spontaneous fire art and beyond.

History and inspiration...
Shiva is one of three aspects of the Hindu trinity representing divinity. Brahma is the first aspect, considered the creator, Vishnu the second aspect considered the preserver and Shiva, the destroyer. Shiva's function is to destroy all the worlds at the end of creation and dissolve them into nothingness, void, from which point Brahma again creates the world, completing the circle of life. Shiva is responsible for change, both in the form of death and destruction and in shedding old habits to start anew. Shiva's destruction is positive, that of nourishment and construction that builds and transforms life and energy for the welfare of the world and all that inhabit it. Shiva destroys to renew and regenerate. This is the destruction of an artist, a surgeon, a cook; evolution. Through destruction is facilitated the smooth transition of things and events from one stage to another.

The Shiva Vista project represents the theme at Burning Man this year and the continued evolution of Controlled Burn and the Fire Conclave Convergence Camp in the sense that this installation is intended to be built this year and used over the next couple of years, facilitating change, evolution, the shedding of old and creation of new, recycling and the circle of all life. Additions to the original structure are in the design process and will be added for Burning Man 2008, at which time it will be burned as it was designed to do, fulfilling the inevitable departure from existence into nothingness and oblivion!

You can also read a recent write-up in the Reno Gazette Journal, outlining the project and promoting our first fundraiser at

The Secret

I am seeking other Burners who know about or want to learn about the Secret.

To help understand and learn more about the Secret, I would love to share some of tools I have to help break outside of our box, which keeps us using the Secret to our disadvantage.

The second weekend of March I would love to have you join us as we learn more about the Secret. During this gathering I will share the Secret to walking on broken glass. I’ve shared the secret of glass walking with thousands at Burning man, I would love to share it with those of you close to home. Many have told me the glass walk changed how they look at life. They found their Secret in a pile of broken glass.
I might throw in fire eating if we have time.

I look forward to finding other burners who have the energy the Secret can create.
The big part of the Secret is “what do you want?”

If you have any questions you can contact me through tribe.

Mr. Bear

free skool fresno

Hi all I have recently started organizing a free skool in Fresno. I hope to have a web page up and running soon. here is some info about it. let me know what you all think. if any one would like to get involved let me know

Free Skool Fresno is a grass roots effort, volunteers from the community have come together to organize a network of learning groups where community members can exchange ideas experiences and skills without limitations in a open and positive environment. Classes are informal egalitarian, and are held in homes, social spaces, and parks. Classes range from artistic projects, workshops, reading groups, discussions, film screening, skill shares, DIY, outings, and whatever else the visionary muse takes us.
We all have knowledge and skills to share with one another.
If you are willing to learn, teach or help organize free skool, thene we'd like you to be part of it. we are all students and we are all teachers. If you have a class idea or would like to get involved in any way we would love to hear from you.

free skool santa cruz is a great site for info. santacruz.freeskool.org/news.php

SF DECOMP!!!!!! Sunday, Oct 8- You've been warned early, so fake it til u make it!
http://www.burningman.com/blackrockcity_yearround/special_events/decompression/decom2006.html
Would love to plan a meet up with all you Central Cali dahhhlings in (as RU55 put it) Black Top City! :D

Also, to tide you iver, if you AREN'T going to be out to the playa this year:

***********************************
Can't make it to the desert this year? Here's how to enjoy the Burning Man Experience from the Comfort of your Own Home (author unknown and censored by me - I took out the ones I did not get, and some that seemed a little negative. But I think these ones left here are funny!) ---

Tear down your house. Put it in a truck. Drive 10 hours in any direction. Put the house back together. Invite everyone you meet to come over and party. When everyone leaves, follow them back to their homes, drink all their booze, and break things.

Buy a new set of expensive camping gear. Break it.

Stack all your fans in one corner of your living room. Put on your most fabulous outfit. Turn the fans on full blast. Dump a vacuum cleaner bag in front of them.

Pitch your tent next to the wall of speakers in a crowded, noisy club. Go to sleep.

Only use the toilet in a house that is at least 3 blocks away. Drain all the water from the toilet. Only flush it every 4 days. Hide all the toilet paper.

Visit a restaurant and pay them to let you alternate lying in the walk-in freezer and sitting in the oven.

Don't sleep for 5 days. Take a wide variety of hallucinogenic/emotion altering drugs. Pick a fight with your boyfriend/girlfriend.

Cut, burn, electrocute, bruise, and sunburn various parts of your body. Forget how you did it. Don't go to a doctor.

Buy a new pair of favorite shoes. Throw one shoe away.

Spend a whole year rummaging through thrift stores for the perfect, most outrageous costume. Forget to pack it.

Listen to music you hate for 168 hours straight, or until you think you are going to scream. Scream. Realize you'll love the music for the rest of your life.

Get so drunk you can't recognize your own house. Walk slowly around the block for 5 hours.

Coat all your food with powder. A mix of chalk, cement, and flour will suffice.

Go to a museum. Find one of Salvador Dali's more disturbing but beautiful paintings. Climb inside it.

Spend thousands of dollars on a deeply personal art work. Hide it in a funhouse on the edge of the city. Blow it up.

Have a 3 a.m. soul baring conversation with a drag nun in platforms, a crocodile, and Bugs Bunny. Be unable to tell if you're hallucinating. Lust after Bugs Bunny.
*****************************

This was a post frm JRS. A very useful tool it is.

WHERE ARE YOU CAMPING? COORDINATE HERE.

LIMBO writes: "WhereAreYouCamping.com is a simple web site I put up that
lets you tell all your friends where you will be camping at Burning Man
and what you
and your campmates have planned while there. Of course, you can also see
where everyone else is camping so you'll be ready when you hit the playa.

* Register and join a camp (most theme camps are already listed or
create a new one).
* Tell everyone about your camp and what events you have planned.
* Mark your friends as favorites, don't be shy - those are private.
* Print a list of your favorite burners to take with you to the playa for
easy stalking.
* Tell all your friends about it!"

THEME CAMP LOCATOR:

Find out who you neighbors are - flag and locate theme camps of interest.

Where are all you burners planning on living while on the playa? I will be living at Fusion Valley, which is located at the 3 o'clock outpost. Britty is staying at Misfit Toys which is located around 4:45 and Anxious. Mark will be living at the Cafe Camp. Please correct me if I am wrong, Mark.

Anyway, would anyone care to attempt a get together on the playa? We SOOOO need to celebrate our existance!

I am feelen big'ol empty spot in my hart for the CC burners. So I says to my self, “Self why don't we get some kinda shin dig going?” What if we all put in some ideas and pick a spot and time and have some good beer and some good food. I vote for a night the weekend of the July 29th or the 5th there after. We could go take over a bar, or we could grab a spot at some park and do a potluck BBQ of some kind. Hell, may be some kind selfless member will to open up their home. Come on folk let hear some ideas!

Art Hop is this Thursday, August 3, 5 to 8 pm in downtown Fresno. As promised, I will be at Fagan's around 8 to meet any of you beautiful Burners who make an appearance. I will be wearing a small el wire button that changes color. You Burners know what I'm talking about.

Oh, yeah, Fagan's is on the corner of Van Ness and Kern. BYO$$ for beer.
Unfortunate find in Fresno....

Last night I was very happy to meet a group of people that shared the same love of music and seemed to share the same love for their fellow man. I was able to spend some time with them and attended a fabulous art hop in Fresno.

I was, however disappointed when the topic of BM came up. I asked to hear what they knew about it and what drew them to attend the event. This is what I heard:

1. You get so much free stuff
2. Its just a big party to get messed up at
3. Everybody is so nice that you don’t have to bring much of anything
4. There are so many vendors there to buy things from

From what I have learned through my encounters with burners I know that this is far from what the BM mentality should be. It broke my heart because I thought I had stumbled upon a good group that would’ve been nice a nice addition to the central Cali burners. Hopefully, if they do decide to join we can help them to realize that BM is not just about free stuff and drugs… Maybe they will begin to learn it is about more…

I would like to begin by
1. Asking anybody that is new to say Hi and tell us something about yourself...
2. Those that are not new and have an interest in keeping this tribe alive, lets look into a venue to host a gathering of some sort....
I know that BM is quickly approaching and this means that there will be some large pre-compression events coming up... We can go and try to make it a group event or we can decide we will host our own mini event before all of the hoop la begins... what do you think??

Hey all - it's nice to see the Central Cali Burners community coming together! I hope this tribe has led to some real life / real time connections for some of you! I just relocated to Portland, OR, so I probably won't be active in the CA BM scene for awhile. RU55 is the new moderator for the tribe, & from the looks of it, he'll be working on prying the Fresno Burners out of the woodworks (they do exist, I swear!!!) & establishing a stronger presence in the Valley. Of course, this tribe's open to everyone, but the main goal is to unite CCB's - and Fresno <i>is</i> pretty much smack-dab in the middle of the state, so ideally it would be a great place for Burners from all over to meet. Besides, there are some amazing outdoor locations in the valley that are perfect for overnight events (or even weekend campouts, if you're so inclined). Guess that's about it - keep up the good work - I hope to meet up with you all in the future!
Blessings...

Burner get together Stockton

Hi Everyone,

I know everyone is gearing up for Stilldream, but if you have sooome time Sunday night the 18th I have a fellow Burner friend who has brought together another Central Valley get together and has asked me to pass it on. Information follows.
Aspen
****************************************************************************************************
Howdy fellow burners! That long trip out to the Black Rock is looming, just a few more months to go. Hows'about a little gettogether to ratchet your excitement up another notch? Throw on a costume and come on down to the Valley Brewing Company in Lovely downtown Stockton on Sunday, June 18th for a little meet'n'greet time with some other Central Valley burners.

Are you a playa veteran? Come share some stories, tell us what your camp did last year, tell us what your camp is going to do this year, show off some of your nifty shwag, share some photos, rave about your art project, or just hang out and have a pint with us.

Is this your first year? Perfect time to meet some seasoned burners and have those experienced cerebrums rub off on ya. Ask questions, ramble through your packing list, find out what to bring, find out what not to bring, find out what not to do durring a white-out, find out what TO do during a white-out, or just sit in the corner and giggle. Who knows, someone just might let you borrow their "Beyond Blackrock" documentary.

In my opinion, a lot of what that freaky festival out in the desert is about is building community, so... come help build some community right here in your own back yard. Whether you're as far north as Sacramento or as far south as Madera, waaay out in Davis or up in the hills of Sonora... take an afternoon off, drive a little while and come say howdy.

The Valley Brewing Company is a locally owned brew pub, they serve food as well as beer so young'ens are wellcome (just keep an eye on 'em please). Do also keep in mind that if you're gonna have a beer or two, think about having a designated driver. Also, Since it is a public establishments, try and keep your costumes on the mostly tastefull side... mostly that is... ;)

See ya all there!!!

"There's not a word yet,
for old friends, who've just met"
- Gonzo, from the song 'I'm Going to Go Back There Someday", The Muppet Movie

**********
Central Valley Burners Meet'n'greet gettogether
Sunday, June 18th
5:00pm-9:00pm
Valley Brewing Company
157 W. Adams St.
Stockton, CA 95204

Miss Treat here.

I am new to tribe, but not new to Burning Man. Thrilled to know there is tribe here in Fresno. Could someone post where, when, and what time the regional meeting might be? I would love to attend and meet other like-minded folks.

Thanks!

So I am looking for some good folk I might join with for burning man I live in Bakersfield Ca and was thinking that you might be be some people to talk to.

"So burning man seems like an all round great event and was going to do it last year but the fates weren't going for it but this year I am ready. I am how ever alone all the people I know and have talked to think it sounds nuts and want nothing to do with it. So I am now looking for a group to join. What are they called “encampments”? Any way I do have been doing henna for friends who want it and I just kind dig body art in general. On top of that I make masks and I love juggling AKA Contact Juggling and Devil Sticks. I just want to find some descent people who might help me out with my first burning man and I can inturn give something back. Any one know where I might look".

Check it out.....

We are planning a counter demonstration for the Zip It adult shop. For those of you that aren't familiar with the new shop, it is located west of Palm on the south side of the street, next to the Hemp Shack here in Tower.

The counter demonstration will be focused on censorship and was prompted by the report seen on channel 47 news, where demonstrators were seen outside the Zip It shop protesting its opening. Not only were there adult demonstrators, but some actually brought thier preteen children who were told to shout, "burn this shoppe down!"

Any and all Tower residents with an open heart and mind and who support local business are encouraged to come out. The counter demonstration is being planned for this Saturday (5-27-06) Which is also the Grand Opening celebration for the Zip It shoppe.

If you are interested in coming out and supporting the cause, or if you have any questions, please feel free to message me here on Tribe or email: lilmama463@yahoo.com

If you can't come to the demonstration, but still want to lend your support please stop by the shoppe, have a look around and let them know you care!!

Love and Rock

ok... this is the final notice for the upcoming party in just a little over a week......

Hello Revelers..... here's the party info..... hope all of you can make it.. and invite whomever you want.... the more the merrier..

Ok.. ya all have a little over a week now to ponder this and mull it over and think on it.. and decide that the Beltaine Spring Fest Party here at our place is where ya all wanna be....

Saturday April 29th begining at sundown... we will light 2 bonfires that will burn thru the night..

we'll have the annual Maypole so come dance and help us thread the ribbons.... Last year was the best looking pole we ever threaded in all the years we have been doing this...

Can we do better??

we will also be making Dragon Sections for The TRIBES endeavor at breaking the guinness world record for the longest chinese dragon.... taking place at Burningman this year…

you can view the details at www.burningtribe.com/dragon/index.html

if you'd like to be a part of that project for Burningman bring your pieces and parts with you even if you are not going to burningman you can make a section and we will take it and add it to the dragon…. You can still be a part of history…..

This is a potluck (as usual) cuz I can't afford to feed all you hungry heathens..
please bring a favorite dish to add to the feast……

bring your own beverage of choice.... Coffee and punch and soda provided

invite whomever you wish... and please bring lawn chairs or blankets as this is usually a large gathering.....

Parking is an Issue…. So… it may be necessary for you to park a block or so away and walk to our place… PLEASE keep in mind this is a residential area, mostly Old-timers that have lived here for ages…. BE RESPECTFUL!! And LEAVE NO TRACE!!!!!

if you plan to stay over night bring your sleeping bags....

two domes will be up, one for the Drummers/Musicians, be sure to bring your drums… and the other dome for the more "adventurous"

Kids welcome until 9pm ... BUT after 9pm we ask those with kids to take the kiddies home cuz I can't guarantee the party to be "kid Friendly" after 9pm...

Clothing optional after 9pm...

Hot Tub.... bring your own towels please...

Fire Spinners Welcome and encouraged....

Musicians of all kinds..... Drummers....

most of you know where.. but just in case.....

Bare & Charly & Dave's Place
Manteca

call for directions.... my cell 209-403-4983, and 209-403-8095 charly's cell... just mention the beltaine party…

I don't know if anyone has heard of Posicle, but it is an event in SF April 1st. Its has trance, electronica, etc. music. If anyone is interested in going, please let me know. I would like to make a "trip" of it... Also, i like what one of the SF people talked about. They said they were having a pink party. Maybe we can start up something similar. That way it will be easy for people to get a costume together and will be more inviting for the shy people. Anyone want to volunteer a venue/ house for the gathering?

Hello everyone,

Emma and Jericho we missed you tonight. But there will be other times hopefully soon to get together. I wanted to talk with you about the great talents you have and what you would like to do on the planning team. *S*

The first official meeting for the starting of planning a regional took place tonight. In attendence were 5 of us. At last it begins. Since we are at the heart of California we came up with a name for our Regional - Fuego del Corazon (Heart of Fire).

I have also sent the first communication this evenning to The Burning Man oraganization letting them know of or starting plans and what from thier end we need to do next. We also have one of the team checking into an area for the Regional.

Sometime soon we would like to have an informal Pot Luck for any others that want to help out and or just get together. More information on that coming soon. This is a perfect opportunity for any interested in Burning Man or even the art community to come out.

Look forward to hearing from more of you and to a great Regional Organization.

The Playa's Longest dragon

Be a part of the 2 Mile Long Burning Man Dragon on the Playa....

The TriBe is planning another large scale art project for Burning Man 2006, and we'd like to invite you and your friends to be a part of it. In 2006 we are going to break the Guinness Worlds Record for the longest Chinese Festival Dragon! The current record is 1.89 miles, set at the great wall of China. We will attempt to break that record by connecting 530 twenty foot body sections together on the playa.

Made From HULA HOOPS!

Here's the easy part. Each section is made from HULA HOOPS - PVC SPRINKLER PIPE AND BED SHEETS... that's It! There are no special tools or expensive materials required. You can decorate it as much or as little as you want. The fiery and animated head will be created by Burning Man artist Jim Bowers, creator of the Eyes Of Gawd.

So build as little as 10 feet or get your whole camp together - throw a dragon building party weekend - and build a 100 footer!

Check Out The Website

http://www.burningtribe.com/dragon/index.html

Take a look at our step by step online tutorial. Complete with photgraphs tips, tricks and a dash of Burning Man humor. Sign up to build the dragon and subscribe to our burningdragon yahoo groups chat list. The dragon is already over two football fields long and participants are throwing out new ideas and posting their own project snapshots.

NO SPECTATORS! BE THE DRAGON!

Jim Bowers
Project Leader

hope you'll join us and make this happen.....

Hope you enjoy it.

It's getting closer...
Does anyone want to consolidate their camp w/ us? Here's what we have so far:
-Trampoline
-30 ft geodesic dome
-SwatSound (8 18" subwoofers / 8 dual 15"s / 4 monitors)
-DJs
-Artists
-Geeks
-Naturalists
-Fire dancers
Last year we set up the geo dome for the first time & it served us well. This year we plan to build a 60' tent for the sound system (we'll be using the geo dome as the chill tent). I've heard the system rock a few parties & the sound is cleeeeean. Our camp is called Teknoasis, & it's going to be a cyber-gypsy themed camp w/ a plush interior. I'm pushing for a barter bar too.
Our focus this year is on the interaction of multiple art forms... If you have a skill you'd like to contribute or if you'd like to camp w/ us & help us run the camp, hit me up! We'll be having our first meeting April 22nd. If you know of any other local burners (or random freaks) that might be interested in attending, feel free to send them my way. Also - If anyone has any of the following, our camp is accepting donations of:
-Cheap wine / alcoholic beverages, cups
-Pillows, cushions, beanbags & pillow / cushions stuffing
-Fabric (silky, fuzzy, furry, paisley, or anything else for that matter)
Also - If anyone has a hookup on moving trucks or vehicles that can move a lot of equipment, let me know, because we'll have quite a bit of stuff to bring out there.

The time has come to hold the first meeting for the Santa Cruz Fire Conclave.

Sunday, April 24
6-8 pm
Motion Pacific Dance Studio
408 Front St. in downtown Santa Cruz

I know, it's a little ways away. But this will allow for folks to work it into their schedule and we'll have the FireDrums gathering at Red White and Blue to help spread the word. Come prepared to share your ideas for this year's production and how you'd like to be involved.

I've also created a tribe for it. Check out "Santa Cruz Conclave" if you're interested. More info:

This tribe is home to current and potential members of the Santa Cruz Burningman Fire Conclave. We are an all volunteer group who are committed to creating a dynamic, explosive, choreographed performance for the annual event held and the end of August. Membership requires attending regular meeting & rehearsals, creating costumes, and participation as fire safety and performer in the Conclave.

Cheers,
